RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team defeated visiting SIU Edwardsville Friday afternoon, 6-1. With the win, EKU (14-4) improved to 10-0 at home this season.
EKU won the top five singles matches in straight sets. Juniors
Hugo Klientovsky (No. 2) and
Philip Janz (No. 4) each dropped just one game. Freshman
Joao Maio (No. 6) dropped his match to SIUE’s Ryan Vogt in a super tie-breaker, 10-6.
SIUE (0-12) will be an official OVC opponent next season.
The Colonels return to OVC action tomorrow (April 2) against Jacksonville State at home before visiting Morehead State on April 5.
