Lady Colonel Signee Selected For Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Games

RICHMOND, Ky. – Future Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball student-athlete Carla Booth was selected to play in the Kentucky/Indiana All-Star basketball series this summer. Booth signed a National Letter of Intent to play at EKU in November and led her Sheldon Clark High School team to the second round of the 2011 KHSAA Sweet Sixteen in March.

The games will be held on June 10th at Bellarmine University in Louisville and on June 11th at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Booth averaged 23 points and seven rebounds per game this past season while leading SCHS to a 25-9 record, a district championship and a region title. She shot 47 percent from the field, 37 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line.

She scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Boyd County in the first round of the Sweet Sixteen. She scored 19 points and hauled in 10 boards in the team’s second round game against Calloway County.

Booth becomes the fifth Kentucky/Indiana All-Star series alum in the last three years to join the Lady Colonel Lady Colonel program.

On April 24, Booth earned first team all-state honors from the Louisville Courier-Journal. She was chosen as the 15th Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches, and selected second team all-state by the Lexington Herald-Leader and the Associated Press.
