Softball Drops Two At Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky lost both games of an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Murray State on Friday. The Racers won game one 12-4 in five innings and picked up a 9-7 victory in the second game.

Ashley Dollins had two hits and two RBIs for the Colonels (21-24, 8-17 OVC) in game one. She hit her seventh home run in the second game, finishing 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Raquel Howes’ only hit in the second game was her 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning. Cassi Gibson, Shyenne Hussey and Nicole Heitz each recorded two hits. Hussey and Heitz also each drove in a pair of runs.

In both games combined, Murray State’s (19-23, 10-13 OVC) Jenna Bradley went 5-for-7 with three runs and nine RBIs. She finished game two with three hits in four at bats, two runs and six RBIs.

The two teams will conclude their three-game series on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
