CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Eastern Kentucky split an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday. The Redhawks captured game one 5-1 before the Colonels picked up an 8-0 victory in five innings in game two.

Kristin Perry (9-10) tossed a five-inning, three-hit shutout in the second game. She did not walk a batter and struck out four. Four Colonels registered two hits each.
Eastern Kentucky (23-27, 10-18 OVC) scored a run in the second and a run in the third before registering a six-spot in the fourth.
Ashley Dollins got the Colonels on the board with a solo home run in the second, her eighth of the season.
In the big fourth inning,
Larkyn Wood drove in the first run with a one-out RBI double. Raquel Howes had a two-run double later in the inning.
Shyenne Hussey capped it off with an RBI single up the middle.
Howes went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Hussey finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Cassi Gibson had two hits and scored twice.
The Colonels were officially eliminated from contention for the six-team Ohio Valley Conference tournament with a loss in game one. Wood’s solo home run in the top of the fifth inning drew Eastern to within one, 2-1, before the Redhawks (27-27, 17-11 OVC) scored three unanswered runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to pull away.
Hussey finished 2-for-3. Wood was 1-for-2 with a walk to go along with her eighth home run of the season.
The Colonels will conclude their 2011 season with the series finale at Southeast Missouri on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
