Gameweek: Battle of Ranked Teams This Saturday at TSU

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team plays on the road for the third time in four weeks this Saturday at No. 24 Tennessee State. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.

No. 16 Eastern Kentucky (4-1, 2-0 OVC) and Tennessee State (5-0, 1-0) are just two of three teams remaining that are undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference action. Both teams bring impressive winning streaks into the contest. The Colonels have won four straight games by an average of 16 points since dropping the season opener at Purdue.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are one of just six FCS teams that stand at 5-0 overall. Tennessee State has not allowed more than 14 points in a game this season.

The last time these two teams played, senior RB Matt Denham piled up a personal-high 226 yards rushing. Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series, 20-4, and is 4-0 all-time at ‘The Hole.’ These two teams last squared off at Hale Stadium in 1997.
