RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team hits the road this Saturday to face OVC foe UT Martin. FOX College Sports is televising the game live beginning at noon.

Thanks to its convincing win over Jacksonville State this past weekend, EKU (3-1, 1-0 OVC) has won three consecutive games and moved up to No. 19 in both major FCS polls. The Colonel offense has been clicking on all cylinders the last two weeks as QB #T.J. Pryor# now leads the nation in passing efficiency (180.9) while RB Matt Denham paces the conference in rushing yards (138 ypg).

Meanwhile, the Eastern defense has been a turnover machine through the first four games. The Colonels have forced 12 turnovers in that span, including four turnovers which led to 14 points in the win over the Gamecocks. Senior DB Cejay Ceniza was named OVC Defensive Player of the Week after posting two interceptions and a fumble recovery versus JSU. Eastern Kentucky currently sits sixth nationally in turnover margin at +7.

UT Martin (3-1, 1-0) has quietly gone about its business early in 2012. The Skyhawks picked up their first ever win over an FBS program in the season opener, a last-second 20-17 win at Memphis. Over the last two games, UTM has limited its opposition to just six points per game. UT Martin ranks 15th nationally in scoring defense (16.0 ppg).

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series by a count of 21-1. However, the Skyhawks won the last meeting in Martin, a 10-7 nail-biter in 2010. The last five games between these two teams have been decided by seven points or less.

--Eastern Kentucky racked up 558 yards of total offense in the win over Jacksonville State, marking the most by the EKU offense since Sept. 13, 2003 at Central Michigan (614).

--The last time these two teams played, senior RB Matt Denham piled up a personal-high 41 carries. Denham has reached 100 yards rushing in 11 of the last 12 games dating back to last year.

--The Colonels will be shooting for their first 4-1 start in five seasons under head coach Dean Hood. The last time Eastern Kentucky won four of its opening five games was 1999.
