RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will host Ohio Valley Conference foe Belmont in its regular season home finale on Friday at EKU Soccer Field at 4:00 p.m. The Colonels will then travel to Tennessee Tech on Sunday for a 2:00 p.m. showdown.

EKU 4-10-2, 3-3-1 OVC) is currently in the midst of a two-game winning streak and is one game out of sixth place in the conference standings. The top-six teams in the league advance to the OVC Tournament.

The Colonels blanked in-state rival Murray State, 2-0, last Friday and then upended Austin Peay, 3-2, on Senior Day on Sunday. Senior Nikki Donnelly scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute versus the Lady Govs. Freshman Cassie Smith, meanwhile, scored two goals over the weekend while sophomore Amani Thomas contributed one goal and two assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Erika Wolfer returned to the net last weekend, recording the shutout over Murray State and then notching a season-high 10 saves in the win over Austin Peay. Wolfer is part of an EKU defense that ranks second in the OVC in goals allowed per conference game (0.83).

Belmont (4-8-2, 2-4-1 OVC) enters the weekend directly behind EKU in the conference standings. The Bruins have lost two straight games, falling to Southeast Missouri, 2-1, in overtime last Friday before being defeated by first-place UT Martin on Sunday, 2-0. Allie Hicks and Alison Alcott lead a balanced Belmont attack with three goals apiece.

EKU and Belmont met for the first time on the soccer field last year in Nashville. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Tennessee Tech (3-12-1, 1-5-1 OVC) is currently in ninth place in the OVC. The Golden Eagles are paced offensively by Ellie Iaciofano, who has four goals and four assists on the year.

EKU is 5-3-0 all-time versus Tennessee Tech and the Colonels have won three consecutive games in the series.

Following this weekend's action, EKU will conclude the regular season with a game at rival Morehead State on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6:00 p.m.
