HARDIN, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team earned a much-needed 4-0 win over Murray State Sunday afternoon. The match was played indoors at Kenlake Tennis Club due to inclement weather.
With the win, Eastern (6-11, 1-1 OVC) broke a five-match losing streak and notched its first road triumph of the season.
“Our men grew up a little bit today, especially the top four guys,” EKU head coach
Rob Oertel said. “It was nice to see those guys execute in crunch time.”
Sophomore
Daridge Saidi (No. 1), sophomore
Juanjo de la Llera (No. 3) and freshman
Lucas Smets (No. 4) all won in straight sets. Freshman
Alex Alvaro clinched the team win with a three-set thriller at No. 2 singles.
