RICHMOND, Ky. – Tennessee Tech pitcher Taylor Ketchum limited the Eastern Kentucky University softball team to two hits as the visiting Golden Eagles took the rubber game of the three-game series Saturday afternoon, 5-1.

The Colonels (19-14, 6-4 OVC) have now dropped four of their last five games overall.

TTU (13-14, 2-3) scored first in the third inning behind a two-out RBI double from Madison Taylor.

Eastern responded in its half of the third with an unearned run.

However, Tennessee Tech took the lead for good in with a pair of runs in the fifth thanks to three EKU errors. The Golden Eagles added two insurance runs in the sixth which included a bases loaded walk by Hannah Eldridge.

Ketchum (10-5) won two games in the series for TTU, giving up only two earned runs in 12 innings pitched.

Sophomore pitcher Leanna Pittsenbarger (12-7) took the loss for the Colonels. She was charged with all five runs allowed in five-plus innings pitched.

Eastern Kentucky is back in action next weekend with doubleheaders at Murray State (April 6) and Austin Peay (April 7).
