RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky women's soccer team will look to get on track this weekend as the Colonels travel up I-75 to face Kentucky on Friday at 5:00 p.m. before hosting Ohio on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

EKU (0-2-0) dropped a pair of games last weekend to open the 2013 season, falling at UNC Asheville, 2-1, before losing its home opener to Western Carolina, 2-0. Senior Lauren Fant scored the Colonels' lone goal of the season at UNCA off an assist from sophomore Taylor Perkins.

In both losses, EKU recorded more shots and corner kicks than its opponents, but failed to capitalize on opportunities.

The Colonels will look to remedy that on Friday against a young Kentucky team that features seven freshmen and sophomores in its starting 11. UK opened the season last weekend by losing to No. 15/10 Wake Forest, 3-1, and playing Utah to a scoreless draw.

Eastern is 0-4-0 all-time against Kentucky; however, the last three losses to the Wildcats have all been by the narrowest of margins: one goal.

Ohio (0-1-1), meanwhile, lost to Indiana, 1-0, to open the year before playing Wright State to a 1-1 draw. The Bobcats host Depaul on Friday before travelling to Richmond.

Sunday's game will be the first-ever meeting between EKU and Ohio.
