Red-Hot Lady Colonels to Face Belmont and Tennessee State in Nashville this Weekend

RICHMOND, Ky.
– The surging Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will head to the Music City this weekend to face Ohio Valley Conference foes Belmont and Tennessee State.

The Lady Colonels will square off against Belmont on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Tennessee State on Monday at 12:00 p.m. ET.

EKU (10-6, 4-1 OVC) sits atop the OVC East standings after winning seven of its last eight games. The Lady Colonels defeated Jacksonville State, 68-61, last Saturday at McBrayer Arena.

Senior Marie Carpenter led the way with 22 points and enters Saturday's game at Belmont two three-pointers shy of breaking EKU's career record of 170.

Fellow senior Pilar Walker contributed a career-high 19 points in the win over JSU. Walker has now scored in double digits in six consecutive games, the longest active streak on the team.

Belmont (7-13, 4-3 OVC) lost at Tennesssee State, 64-51, last Saturday. Jordyn Luffman leads the Bruins at 14.8 points-per-game.

EKU is 3-7 all-time versus Belmont. The Lady Colonels have not defeated the Bruins in Nashville since 2000-01 season.

Tennessee State (6-13, 3-3 OVC) defeated Belmont last Saturday but fell at Jacksonville State, 84-76, on Monday. Chelsea Hudson paces the Lady Tiger offense with 16.8 points-per-game.

EKU leads the all-time series with TSU, 36-16.
