EKU Travels to Murray State Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. –The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will travel to Murray State University Saturday for a 3 p.m. match. The Colonels defeated Morehead State on Wednesday night to improve its Ohio Valley Conference record to 3-0.

EKU's record is 13-6 overall. Eastern is second in the OVC with a .211 hitting percentage. Murray State is 11-4 overall. The Racers lead the OVC with a .246 hitting percentage, 13.66 average kills per set, and 17.30 digs per set.

Eastern standouts Alexis Plagens led the team with 14 kills followed by Rachel Vick and Celina Sanks with 13 kills, during the Morehead game. Senior setter Abbey Cvelbar added 10 kills to finish off the game.

Murray State played Austin Peay Tuesday, resulting in a 3-0 loss in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Racers' Sam Bedard leads the OVC in assists averaging 10.45 per set.
