EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Eastern Kentucky's volleyball team closed its final road trip of the regular season with a 3-2 loss at Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Saturday.
The Cougars (14-15, 6-8 OVC) earned just their sixth conference victory of the season after winning by scores of 25-17, 25-27, 25-17, 21-25 and 16-14. After suffering its second straight Ohio Valley Conference loss, EKU is now 9-5 in league play and 19-13 overall.
Senior
Alexis Plagens had a team-best 16 kills to go along with 12 digs, three aces and three blocks.
Rachel Vick finished with 10 kills and four blocks.
Dena Ott had 27 digs.
Kristen Torre led all players with 19 kills for SIU Edwardsville. She also had seven blocks and seven digs. Ashley Witt registered 10 kills and only one error. Chelsea Colclasure posted a match-best 31 digs for the Cougars.
Eastern Kentucky committed 10 more attack errors than SIUE and had 10 service errors.
The Colonels will play host to in-state rival Morehead State on Wednesday at McBrayer Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
