RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will wrap up of the non-conference portion of its schedule by hosting the Richmond Spiders at McBrayer Arena on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
 
This is the first-ever meeting between EKU and Richmond in women's hoops.
 
EKU (5-4) is fresh off a 62-56 victory at Alabama A&M on Wednesday night. The Colonels shot a season-high 56 percent (28-of-50) from the floor and limited the Lady Bulldogs to 27 percent (17-of-63) shooting in the win.
 
Junior Shameekia Murray came off the bench to score a career-high 21 points on Wednesday. She also grabbed a career-high six rebounds.
 
EKU trotted out its fifth different starting lineup of the season in the win. Junior Miranda Maples and sophomores Katie Pippen and Nicole Bowers made their first starts of the season. Pippen responded with a career-high eight points, while Bowers added six points and a team-best eight boards.
 
Richmond (5-4) arrives in Richmond having won two straight games over Wake Forest and UNCW.
 
The Spiders are led by Lauren Tolson, who is averaging 13.0 points-per-game.
 
EKU will open Ohio Valley Conference play by hosting Austin Peay on Saturday, January 3, at 4:00 p.m.
