MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball pitching staff held host Morehead State scoreless in Tuesday's doubleheader as the Colonels rolled to a pair of victories by scores of 4-0 and 5-0.
The Colonels (20-14, 8-4) have now won seven straight games against Morehead State (7-23-1, 3-9) dating back to 2012. This is also the second time this season EKU has recorded back-to-back shutouts.
Junior pitcher
Leanna Pittsenbarger (13-7) gave up just two hits in the opener on the way to her eighth shutout of the season. In game two, sophomore

Freshman
Krislyn Campos came up with a big two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning of the first game to make the score 4-0. Sophomore
Kayla Joyce notched two hits, scored once and knocked in a run in the opener. Meanwhile, junior
Lauren Mitchell walked twice and scored twice.
Six different Colonels tallied a hit in the second game, including senior
Christina Ciolek, who equaled a person high with four base knocks. The first baseman piled up three RBIs in the win as well.
Campos and junior
Shannon McQueen chipped in with two hits.
The Colonels return home this weekend for a three-game set against Belmont. The two teams are slated to play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
