Eastern's multi-year score of 990 is the seventh highest for a Division I men's basketball team in the nation. EKU exceeded the national average (957) for men's basketball teams by 33 points.
This multi-year report is based on data submitted by every NCAA Division I institution for the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.
The Academic Progress Rate is a real-time measure of eligibility and retention of student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team. Not only does the program ensure accountability for student-athletes, teams and institutions, but it also provides fairness by considering individual circumstances per team and school.
On the court, the Eastern Kentucky men's basketball team won the program's sixth OVC Tournament Championship and made its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in 2013-14. Eastern nearly upset No. 2 seed Kansas in the Big Dance, leading the Jayhawks with 8:55 left in the game and trailing by only three with 3:39 to go.
