RICHMOND, Ky. – Fresh off a road win at Western Carolina, the Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will host Alabama A&M in its 2014 home opener on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at EKU Soccer Field.
 
Admission is free to all soccer games.
 
EKU (1-0-0) went on the road and blanked Western Carolina, 1-0, in its season opener last Friday in Cullowhee. Freshman Emmi Carroll headed in the decisive goal in the 70^th minute off a ball from sophomore Mikayla Brillon.
 
Fellow rookie Anna Hall also made a spectacular debut, playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Colonels and making three saves to record her first-career clean sheet.
 
AAMU (0-1-0) fell to Lipscomb, 7-0, in its season opener last Sunday in Nashville.
 
The Lady Bulldogs went 1-15-3 in 2013.
 
EKU defeated AAMU, 3-2, last year in Huntsville. Senior Kaylynn Brown scored the game-winner in the 62^nd minute of that affair. Senior Whitney Wallace and sophomore Cassie Smith also added goals in the win.
 
Eastern is 5-2-2 all-time in home openers at EKU Soccer Field.
 
Following Friday's game, the Colonels return to action at Evansville on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
