"We certainly played hard enough to win and created enough chances to win, but they were just better today," head coach
Andrew Fleming said. "We struggled in the first half, but did a great job staying in the game. That was an issue for us earlier in the year. We simply have to perform better next weekend, but if we match our effort from this weekend, we will have a chance to make the tournament."
EKU is one of several teams that enter next weekend on the cusp of qualifying for the OVC Tournament. The Colonels host Belmont on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and then travel to play Jacksonville State in their regular season finale on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
