RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University All-American runner
Jaime Escriche recently helped his native Spain capture the team title at the U-23 Men's European Cross Country Championships in Hyeres, France.

Escriche finished third on his national team and ninth overall out of 61 competitors on Sunday, December 13, covering the 8K course in a time of 23:50.

His performance helped the Spanish team (39) edge second-place Great Britain (41) by a mere two points for the team title.

Escriche – a junior from Teruel, Spain – helped the EKU men's cross country team finish 17
th at the NCAA Championships just last month in Louisville. He was named an All-American after placing 37
th out of 252 competitors with a 10K time of 30:24.3.

Escriche and the Colonels open the indoor track and field season in mid-January at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington.
