GAINESVILLE, Fla.— The EKU women's basketball team will take on Atlantic Coast Conference opponent, North Carolina State University, in its first game of the 2015 Gator Holiday Classic at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Sunday's game is scheduled for a noon ET tip. Saint Francis University (Pa.) is also playing in the event, along with host, University of Florida.
The Colonels (4-4) look to get back in the win column, after dropping their last three through a taxing stretch of their schedule.
Jalen O'Bannon's 14.9 points-per-game paces the Colonel offense which ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring (76.9 PPG). Meanwhile,
Shameekia Murray and
Michaela Hunter combine for 27.8 points-per-game.
North Carolina State (8-3) enters Sunday's matchup following an 86-55 win over Western Carolina. Eastern Kentucky handed the Catamounts a 91-62 loss on November 21 in McBrayer Arena.
Dominique Wilson leads the Wolfpack with 14.4 points-per-game. Chelsea Nelson and Jennifer Mathurin each pull down 6.1 rebounds-per-game for N.C. State.
The Colonels will play either Saint Francis or Florida on Monday. Game time will either be 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. ET.
