EKU Heads to Nashville to Face Belmont in Final Road Game of the Year

RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will play its final road game of the season on Wednesday when the Colonels travel to the Music City to face Belmont at the Curb Event Center at 7:00 p.m. ET.
 
EKU (9-15, 4-10 OVC) lost to Jacksonville State on Monday, 69-65. Junior Shameekia Murray paced the Colonels with 19 points, while junior Shelly Harper notched her second double-double in Eastern's last three games, scoring a season-high 17 points and grabbing 10 boards. Harper now has four of EKU's six double-doubles on the year.
 
Murray was named the OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday. The transfer from South Georgia Technical College averaged 20.5 points-per-game last week while shooting 67 percent (16-of-24) from the floor.
 
Belmont (12-15, 9-5 OVC) is looking for is fifth straight win after edging Tennessee Tech, 64-62, on Saturday in Cookeville. Jordyn Luffman-Hartsfield paces the Bruins at 11.7 points-per-game.
 
This is the 14th all-time meeting between EKU and Belmont. The Bruins lead the series, 9-4, and defeated the Colonels. 76-59, at McBrayer Arena back on February 7.
 
EKU will close out the regular season on Saturday at home versus Tennessee Tech. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
