RICHMOND, Ky. – Following a four-game road swing, the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball finally returns home this week to host Ohio Valley Conference foes Tennessee State and Belmont at McBrayer Arena.

EKU (8-11, 3-6 OVC) will host Tennessee State (8-12, 5-4 OVC) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Colonels will then host OVC preseason favorite Belmont (8-14, 5-4 OVC) on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

The Colonels fared relatively well during their recent stretch of road games, picking up wins at Murray State and Tennessee Tech before falling to Jacksonville State and Morehead State last week.

Junior Shameekia Murray led EKU with 16 points in Saturday's loss to Morehead State. The transfer from South Georgia Technical College has now scored in double figures in eight of nine OVC games this season and she ranks fifth in the league in scoring (16.7 points-per-game) during OVC play.

Sophomore Mariah Massengill came off the bench to match a career-high with 12 points on Saturday, while junior Jasmine Henshaw pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds in the loss.

TSU is currently tied for fifth in the OVC but has dropped three straight games, including a 63-50 defeat at home to Jacksonville State on Saturday. The Lady Tigers are led by Chelsea Hudson, who averages 14.3 points-per-game and 8.1 rebounds-per-game.

EKU leads the all-time series with TSU, 38-17. The Lady Tigers swept the Colonels during the regular season last year; however, EKU earned redemption with a 79-75 win over TSU in the quarterfinals of the OVC Tournament.

Belmont has won four straight games, including a 59-53 victory over Tennessee Tech at home on Saturday. The Bruins, who play at Morehead State on Thursday before travelling to Richmond, are led by Frankie Joubran, who nearly averages a double-double (12.3 points-per-game, 9.8 rebounds-per-game).

Belmont leads the all-time series with EKU, 8-4. The Colonels and the Bruins split last year's regular season series.
