NOTES ON THE COLONELS:

LAST WEEK
Last weekend the Colonels hosted a duel set of double-headers against SIUE and Eastern Illinois. Eastern dropped both games to SIUE on Saturday. EKU came out with a spark on Sunday sealing both games, 4-0 and 10-1 (5 innings). A bright spot for the Colonels was freshman Sarah Jackson who, in game one, had two RBIs and in game two had five RBIs, and hit 2-for-2 from the box, both being home runs.

COMING DOWN THE PIPE
Following the Morehead State series, the Colonels head out for a six-game road swing beginning at Miami (Ohio) on March 31 and ending at Tennessee on April 7.

LEADING THE OFFENSE
The left fielder Sarah Fobbs is leading the team from the dish with a .325 batting average and is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak. This season, Fobbs has 26 hits in 80 at-bats, scored 12 runs, hit four doubles and four home runs, resulting in 16 RBIs. Fobbs is followed closely by freshman Paige Murphy, who is batting .305. Murphy went 2-of-3 against EIU in game one and 1-of-2 in game two last weekend.

LEADING THE DEFENSE
Senior pitcher Shaylon Robb (6-5) is leading the Colonels with a 2.17 ERA over 61.1 innings pitched. Robb is currently seated at fourth in the OVC in ERA. Last Sunday Robb threw her first complete game shutout. The Colonels rank fifth in the OVC in team defense with a .960 fielding percentage.

IN OVC GAMES
Six Colonels enter the weekend with a batting average of at least .300 in OVC games – Krislyn Campos (.471), Amber Murray (.412), Shannon McQueen (.353), Paige Murphy (.333), Katie Tackett (.316) and Sarah Jackson (.300). Pitcher Shaylon Robb is 2-1 with a 0.48 ERA against league teams.

WINNING STREAK
Eastern has won eight straight games against Morehead State dating back to 2012. The Colonels ended last season with a 6-0 win over the Eagles in the OVC tournament. Senior pitcher Leanna Pittsenbarger tallied her 12th shutout of the 2014 season in that victory.
