Updated Game NotesEDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team downed rival Morehead State on day two of the 2015 OVC Tournament Thursday evening, 2-0. The Colonels stay alive in the tournament, while the Eagles have been eliminated.

Eastern (24-27), the No. 5 seed, will now face No. 2 Jacksonville State in another elimination game Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.

It took just two batters for the Colonels to get the lead in the top of the first inning. Sophomore
Krislyn Campos led off with a walk and then proceeded to move to third base thanks to a passed ball and stolen base. Freshman
Paige Murphy followed with an RBI single through the middle of the infield to make the score 1-0.

EKU added an insurance run in the fourth inning. Senior
Shannon McQueen knocked in freshman
Johnkyria Alston with a single through the infield.

The two runs were more than enough for senior pitcher
Leanna Pittsenbarger (11-13). The righty struck out 11 Morehead State (22-24) batters and held the Eagles to four singles. Pittsenbarger earned her fifth complete game shutout of the season as well as her second against Morehead State.

If the Colonels defeat Jacksonville State on Friday, they would then play either No. 1 SIUE or No. 6 Eastern Illinois in another elimination game later Friday afternoon.
