RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team will open the 2015-16 athletics season tonight at Western Carolina. First touch from the Catamount Athletic Complex is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

- EKU went 1-1 during the preseason. The Colonels defeated Mercer, 1-0, on August 13 before falling at Wright State, 3-2, on August 16. Senior
Mikala Ferguson led EKU with two goals in the two exhibition games.
- Western Carolina finished 2014 8-7-4 (5-3-1 SoCon). The Catamounts return eight starters from that squad.
- Western Carolina went 2-0 during the preseason, blanking both Appalachian State (2-0) and Presbyterian (4-0). Amanda Schwartz and Sayres McKenna both scored a pair of goals for the Catamounts in exhibition play.
UP NEXT EKU will travel to UNC Asheville on Sunday to face the Bulldogs in a 1:00 p.m. game.
