CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky lost a pair of matches on the final day of the Chattanooga Classic presented by Hampton Inn & Suites.
The Colonels (0-3) began the day with a 3-0 loss to Valparaiso (2-0). Eastern fell by scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 27-25. Senior
Rachel Vick had a team-best nine kills and did not make an attack error, finishing with a .346 attack percentage.
Johanna Boyer had 13 assists and four blocks. Freshman
Chloe Rojas contributed 16 digs.
EKU had a 7-5 advantage in blocks, but had just 28 kills in 103 attacks and committed 11 reception errors off Crusader serves.
Eastern fell to host Chattanooga, 3-0, later in the day. The Mocs (2-1) won by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-13. Sophomore
Celina Sanks led EKU with 10 kills and made just two errors for a .296 attack percentage. Rojas chipped in with 17 digs.
The Colonels will play at Marshall on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m.
