RICHMOND, Ky. – With the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament on the horizon, the Eastern Kentucky University soccer team returns to Richmond to host a pair of crucial games versus Eastern Illinois on Friday and SIUE on Sunday.

- Senior Day will be held before Sunday's match with SIUE. Seniors

Cassie Smith will be honored.
- After being picked to finish 10th in the preseason OVC poll, the Colonels have flourished under first-year head coach
Nick Flohre. EKU (10-4-0, 5-2-0 OVC) has already tied the program record for wins in a season (10) and the Colonels are poised to qualify for the OVC Tournament for the first time since 2012.
- EKU bounced back with a pair of wins on the road last weekend, defeating UT Martin, 4-2, on Friday and prevailing over SEMO, 2-1, on Sunday in overtime.
- The Colonels routed the Skyhawks on Friday thanks to two goals from junior
Jordan Foster. Foster scored in the 17th minute to tie the game, and scored again in the 87th minute to ice it. Brillon also notched her first career goal in the victory.
- Eastern spent most of Sunday afternoon trailing the Redhawks, 1-0, until freshman
Erin Torrence headed in a corner kick from junior
Logan Harvey in the 85th minute. In the overtime period, Foster struck again by blasting a shot over the SEMO goalkeeper from 15 yards out in the 96th minute to give EKU the victory.
- Foster leads the team in goals this season with seven, which ties the single season program record. Senior
Cassie Smith has five goals on the year. Junior
Emmi Carroll and Torrence are not far behind with three goals, while freshman
Kayla Childs, and sophomore
Tara Claus each have two goals.
- Junior
Anna Hall is ranked 20th nationally and tied for first in the OVC with seven shutouts this fall.
- The Colonels currently sit in third place in the OVC, only two points behind first-place Murray State in the conference standings.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- Eastern Illinois (5-10-0, 2-5-0 OVC) is led by Emma Scaro's two goals and two assists this year.
- The Panthers are in tenth place in the OVC. Their two conference wins have come against UT Martin and Austin Peay.
- EKU trails the all-time series, 5-7-0, but won last year's match in Charleston, 3-0, thanks, in part, to goals from current Colonels Smith and sophomore
Bailly Bounds. Junior
Logan Harvey scored a golden goal to beat the Panthers in overtime two years ago in Richmond.
- SIUE's (7-5-3, 5-1-1 OVC) leading scorers are Avery Anderson and Caroline Hoefert, who have five goals each.
- The Cougars are in second place in the OVC after beating UT Martin, SEMO, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Austin Peay and tying Murray State.
- EKU trails the all-time series, 3-5-1. The last Colonel victory came during the 2012 season when Eastern prevailed in Richmond, 2-1.
