The Colonels scored 67 points at Austin Peay this past Saturday, tying the program record set in 1925 against Morehead State.  It was the first time EKU scored 60 or more points in a game since beating Glenville State, 60-7, on Oct. 6, 2001, the second to last season of the legendary career of Head Coach Roy Kidd.

Against Austin Peay, the offense scored eight touchdowns and a field goal while totaling 531 yards of offense.  Of the nine offensive scoring drives, six lasted less than three minutes, and half of those used up less than 1:36 of clock time.

It was the fourth time this season that EKU churned out 470 or more yards of offense, but the first time the Colonels reached that level of production on the strength of the running game.  A team that is among the top-20 passing teams in the country, finished with 346 rushing yards, eclipsing the 300 mark for the first time since running for 328 against Murray State on Nov. 15, 2014.

Four running backs combined for six rushing touchdowns against the Governors.  It was the first time Eastern had six rushing touchdowns in a game since posting half a dozen at Morehead State on Sept. 21, 2013.

Eastern Illinois has lost three straight games, giving up 33 or more points in all three and 40 or more in two of them.  The Panthers had the week off last week.  EIU started the season 3-1 with road wins at Miami (Ohio) and Illinois State, the fifth ranked team in FCS at the time.

The Panthers average 172.5 rushing yards and 229.7 passing yards per game.  Eastern Illinois has turned the ball over 25 times this season.  Quarterback Mitch Kimble has thrown for 1,414 yards this season, but did not play in EIU's most recent game.  Devin Church leads the team with 889 rushing yards, an average of 88.9 per game.

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series with Eastern Illinois, 13-10.  The Colonels are 6-4 against the Panthers in Richmond.  EIU won last season, 21-7, in Charleston.  Eastern Illinois snapped a five game losing streak to the Colonels in 2012, and has since won three of the previous four meetings.  The last time the two teams met in Richmond, EKU kicked a field goal in overtime to pull out a 36-33 victory on Oct. 11, 2014.
