NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern lost its series finale, 6-5, at Belmont on Sunday. The two teams had split the first two games of the Ohio Valley Conference series.
Belmont broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the ninth with Alex Ward's bases loaded, one out RBI single just over the out-reached glove of shortstop

Eastern's
Luke Wurzelbacher turned a 3-2 deficit into a 5-3 lead with one swing of the bat in the top of the sixth. His three-run home run cleared the wall in right field. It was his first of the season.
Ward tied the game for Belmont in the bottom half of the sixth with a two-run home run of his own.
Teegarden got Eastern on the board in the third with a solo home run, his second round tripper of the season. EKU was up 2-0 in the fourth before Clay Payne's three-run dinger swung the lead in favor of the home team.
Teegarden finished 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a walk. Wurzelbacher was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Ward and Payne each had two hits and three RBIs for Belmont (11-8, 2-1 OVC).
EKU (10-10, 1-5 OVC) starter
Alex Hamilton tied his career high with eight strike outs. He gave up five runs, only four of which were earned, on five hits and walked two in six innings on the mound. All five runs came on two Belmont home runs.
