EKU foiled the late comeback attempt to pick up its sixth OVC win.

Following a bunt to third base, an erred APSU throw scored Joyce to put the Colonels up one. Later in the inning, a foul ball to right field was long enough to score Murphy from third to extend the EKU lead to two.
In the second, freshman
Sarah Jackson and junior
Krislyn Campos recorded RBI doubles to widen the Colonels' lead to 4-0.
The Governors tallied runs in the fourth and fifth to trim the EKU lead to 4-2, but the Colonels rallied for four runs in the home half of the fifth.
With the bases loaded and no outs, freshman
Rachel Minogue grounded out to score Murphy. Sophomore
Johnkyria Alston belted her third career homer with a three-run shot that sailed over the wall in left center to put EKU up, 8-4.
The Governors were able to add two late runs in the top half of the seventh, but EKU went on to win its seventh straight and 10th of its last 11 contests.
