RICHMOND, Ky. – After winning its last seven and recording the program's best start in its 24-year history, the EKU softball team will look to extend its streak in a non-conference contest against Northern Kentucky University on Tuesday at Gertrude Hood Field.

EKU (22-6, 7-0 OVC) completed two weekend OVC sweeps over Murray State University and Austin Peay State University to open league play with a 7-0 mark.
The Colonels' offense has been more than productive, as EKU leads the conference in batting average (.322) and ranks in the top five in 11 other categories.
Sophomore
Paige Murphy, senior
Kayla Joyce and junior
Krislyn Campos rank in the OVC's top five in batting average. The trio has combined for 110 hits and scored 67 runs for the Colonels thus far. Campos' 11 doubles leads the conference, while Joyce and Murphy both rank in the conference's top five in stolen bases.
