RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky's women's golf team will host the 2016 EKU Colonel Classic on Friday and Saturday at the University Club at Arlington.
The 54-hole event begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. The 11 teams will play two rounds on Friday before closing with the final round on Saturday at 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available at www.GolfStat.com.
The course at Arlington will have a par of 72 and will play 5,819 yards.
The participating teams are Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee Tech.
EKU has finished in the top-7 at all nine events this season. The Colonels placed first at the Bluegrass Kickoff and the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State.
Junior
Sofie Levin leads the team with a 75.23 stroke average. She has five top-10 finishes this season.
Anna Gleixner has four top-10 performances to go along with a 76.12 stroke average.
Eastern Kentucky won last year's Colonel Classic by four shots over Ohio. Ball State placed third and Tennessee Tech was fourth.
