Final Results
ASHEBORO, N.C. – Eastern Kentucky University's women's golf team posted a top-10 team finish, and
Lanie Campbell and
Imogen Jessen turned in a top-20 individual performances at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational, which concluded on Monday.
As a team, EKU placed ninth overall. Campbell led the Colonels and tied for 17th while Jessen finished tied for 20th. The event was shortened to two rounds due to inclement weather.
EKU carded rounds of 314 and 307 for a total of 621. The Colonels were five shots behind eighth-place Elon (616) and 13 shots better than 10th place Western Carolina (634).
Charleston (585) claimed the team title by five shots over Old Dominion (590). Coastal Carolina (599), Wofford (602) and East Carolina (607) rounded out the top five teams.
Campbell turned in rounds of 77 and 74 for a total of 151.
Jessen fired EKU's best round of the tournament with an even-par 72 on Monday. The sophomore started the final round on hole No. 7 and was 1-over after the first five. She had a birdie on the par-3 No. 13 hole and then a pair of bogeys on the next two. She got back to 1-over with another birdie on the par-5 No. 15. Jessen then had par on each of the next seven holes. Finishing the round on the par-3 No. 6, the Australia native found the bottom of the cup in two shots to finish even.
Jessen concluded the 36 holes with a total of 152.
Elizabeth Tucci (158) tied for 42nd,
Karra Tucker (164) tied for 55th and
Maddi-Jo Benton (165) placed 58th.
The field of 13 teams competed on the par-72, 6,023-yard course at Tot Hill Golf Club.
