CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Cole Warrenfeltz had three hits and
Alex Hamilton struck out seven, but EKU was edged at Austin Peay, 4-3, in game two of the weekend Ohio Valley Conference series.
Warrenfeltz had three hits in five at bats and scored a run. Hamilton (3-5) allowed four runs on four hits, walked one and struck out seven in six innings of work.
EKU (17-23, 7-10 OVC) took an early lead by manufacturing a run in the first inning. Warrenfeltz began the game with a single through the right side. He stole second and then moved to third on a sacrifice bunt.
Mandy Alvarez singled through the right side to bring home Warrenfeltz.
Chase Hamilton's solo home run in the second inning tied the game. Austin Peay (24-13, 14-6 OVC) took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. Logan Gray got it started with a two-run single through the left side.
Eastern closed the gap to one with two runs in the fifth.

Taylor Blair followed with a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-3 game. Blair went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Hamilton finished 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs for Austin Peay. Gray was 1-for-3 with a run, two RBIs and a walk.
The Colonels and Governors will close out their series on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
