COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The EKU softball team will conclude its regular season with a three-game series against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles this weekend.
EKU (34-14, 15-7 OVC) is currently tied for second in the conference and will look to lock down the number two seed in next week's OVC tournament in Oxford, Alabama. Meanwhile, TTU (22-29, 13-11) currently sits fifth in the conference.
As a unit, the Colonels rank in the top-three in the conference in 12 statistical categories. Coming into the weekend, Eastern has a .295 batting average, .425 slugging percentage and .362 on base percentage.
EKU sophomore
Paige Murphy currently ranks first in the OVC with an on-base percentage of .488, first in runs scored with 40 and second with a .394 batting average. Also, senior pitcher
Hayley Flynn remains first in the conference in strikeouts (229) and wins (23).
TTU's Alyssa Richards is currently tied for first in the league with 10 homeruns. Sabrie Neeb leads the way for the Golden Eagles hitting .309 on the year.
Saturday's doubleheader is slated for a 2 p.m. ET first pitch. Sunday's series finale is also scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
