MOREHEAD, Ky. – A fourth quarter push trimmed the Morehead State University lead, but the EKU women's basketball team fell on the road, 80-54, in Saturday's Ohio Valley Conference matchup at Johnson Arena.

Shavontae Naylor notched her 11th game in double figures, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds.
The Colonels logged six blocks to five from Morehead State, tying the second highest block total of the season. Morehead State entered the contest atop the OVC and third in the nation in blocks.
Back-and-forth it went in the opening period, as the Colonels built a 14-9 lead. However, the Eagles scored six straight in less than a minute to regain the lead, 15-14, with 1:25 left in the first.
A pair of Naylor free throw swung the lead back to the Colonels at the end of one. The second period, however, belonged to the Eagles. MSU outscored the Colonels 21-6 in the second frame as part of a 38-10 run that spanned nearly 15 minutes and into the second half.

Abby Wright near the baseline for the reverse layup at the 7:42 mark in the third.
From there, the Eagles used a 12-0 run to separate themselves on the way to the win.
The Colonels return to McBrayer Arena Wednesday against Jacksonville State University. Wednesday's game is slated for a 7 p.m.
