RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column as it hosts Jacksonville State University Wednesday at McBrayer Arena for an Ohio Valley Conference contest. Wednesday's tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
WHAT TO KNOW
- The Colonels suffered an 80-54 setback at Morehead State on Saturday. EKU (7-12, 4-2 OVC) enters Wednesday's contest tied for third in the conference standings.

Shavontae Naylor led the Colonels with 15 points, notching her 11th time scoring in double figures this season.

Alexus Cooper (12.7 ppg), and Naylor (11.8 ppg) rank in the OVC's top-20 in scoring. Meanwhile, O'Bannon's 7.0 rebounds-per-game ranks ninth in the league and Naylor's 6.4 rpg is 14th. O'Bannon (45.5 percent) also ranks in the conference's top-20 in field goal percentage.
- Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series, 19-10, over the Gamecocks. The teams split the two meetings last season in which the visiting team won both.

- JSU (8-11, 1-6 OVC) leads the conference in scoring defense, allowing a league best 62.0 ppg. The Gamecocks hold their opponents to 39.6 percent from the floor—second best in the OVC.
- Senior guard Briana Benson leads the Gamecocks with 12.4 ppg and 5.1 rpg.
