RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will look to grab its first win of the season when the Colonels take on Western Carolina on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.

A'Queen Hayes scored a team-high 13 points off the bench in the Colonels road game at Bowling Green. She also led EKU in assists (5) and minutes (37).

Madison Wood scored a career-high 12 points off the bench for the Colonels against Bowling Green. She also was a 4-of-6 from the floor and connected on all four of her free throws.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- Western Carolina (1-1, 0-0 SoCon) defeated UNC Ashville, 62-52 this past Sunday for its first win of the season.

- Sherae Bonner recorded a double-double, scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Catamounts.

- Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series against Western Carolina, 12-4. The two teams met last year in Richmond, where the Colonels fell to the Catamounts, 72-61. However, Eastern has won eight of the nine previous matchups.
