RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will play its first home game of the season against the UNC Greensboro Spartans on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

- The Colonels (1-1, 0-0 OVC) secured their first win of the season with a road victory over Western Carolina, 62-59, on Wednesday.
- With seven seconds on the clock, freshman Bria Bass drilled two clutch free throws to give EKU a three-point lead against WCU. The Catamounts attempted to send the game to overtime, but great perimeter defense by fellow freshman Emely Rosario disrupted the shot.
- Junior
Abby Wright had a game-high 18 points in the Colonels' win, just one away from tying her career-high.
- Sophomore
Shay Solomon had a career game against WCU, scoring a career-high 10 points and grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds to earn her first career double-double.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- UNC Greensboro (3-0, 0-0 SoCon) defeated Coastal Carolina, 60-54, this past Tuesday.
- Nadine Soliman leads the way for the Spartans, averaging 13.7 points-per-game. Ije Ajemba leads the team on the glass, pulling down 13 boards-per-contest.
- The Spartans come in to the game with the No. 1 field goal percentage defense in the country at 25 percent, and the No. 2 scoring defense at just 41 points-per-game.
- This will be the second-ever matchup between the Colonels and the Spartans. The first came last season, when EKU fell on the road, 88-61.
