- EKU (3-4) fell at in-state rival Western Kentucky, 83-51, on Wednesday night in Bowling Green. The Hilltoppers went on a 13-0 run in the middle of the first half to grab a double-digit lead, and never looked back.

- Freshman Dedric Boyd knocked down a career-high four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 16 points in the loss at WKU.

- Junior Nick Mayo - EKU's leading scorer at 18.0 points-per-game - was limited to only seven points in the loss at WKU, snapping his streak of 40 consecutive games in double figures. Mayo had not scored in single figures since his freshman year, a 79-78 loss to Tennessee State on February 13, 2016. He did contribute five rebounds, four assists and a career-high three steals on Wednesday.

- Mayo ranks second in the OVC in scoring at 18.0 points-per-game. He also ranks sixth in the conference in rebounding (7.9 rebounds-per-game), first in three-point field goal percentage (58.3), seventh in free throw percentage (88.6) and second in blocks (1.3 blocks-per-game).

- EKU ranks first in the OVC and eighth in the country in free throw percentage (79.9).

- Sophomore Asante Gist  - a 2016-17 OVC All-Newcomer selection – made his return to the court on Wednesday at WKU after missing five games with an ankle injury. He finished with five points and one assist off the bench.
