Colonels Look to Get Back on Track at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team will look to get back on track at Charleston Southern on Friday night. Tipoff from Buccaneer Field House is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

- EKU (4-6) lost at Northern Kentucky, 91-63, on Sunday at BB&T Arena.
 
- Junior Jackson Davis came off the bench to score an EKU career-high 13 points against NKU.
 
- Sophomore Asante Gist scored 12 points and dished out a season-high five assists at NKU. Gist has scored in double figures in three straight games after returning from injury on Nov. 29.
 
- Senior Zach Charles pulled down a game-high and season-high nine rebounds at NKU.
 
- Senior Dillon Avare knocked down a season-high three three-points and finished with a season-high nine points at NKU. After starting the season 4-of-20 from deep, Avare has now connected on six of his last 10 three-pointers.
 
- Redshirt sophomore Tay Weaver came off the bench to record a career-high 28 minutes of action at NKU.
 
- Junior Nick Mayo moved past Joshua Jones (2008-12) to No. 21 on EKU's all-time scoring list with 1,197 points on Sunday at NKU.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
- Charleston Southern (4-4) has lost two straight after falling at South Carolina State, 91-88, in overtime on Tuesday.
 
- The Buccaneers are paced by Christian Keeling, who comes in averaging 16.2 points and 5.3 rebounds-per-game.
 
- This is only the second all-time meeting between EKU and Charleston Southern. EKU defeated CSU (then known as Baptist College), 106-82, on Dec. 2, 1974.
 
- EKU is 16-10 all-time against the Big South Conference.
