Davis to Play Goodwill Basketball Games in Spain

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University junior forward Jackson Davis will travel to Spain this summer to play in a series of goodwill basketball games.

From August 10-18, Davis – a native of Lexington, Kentucky – will travel with a team comprised of fellow college basketball players to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.

The team is comprised of players representing conferences such as the Big 12, Atlantic 10 and Big East, and it will compete against some of the top club teams in the country.

The trip is being sponsored by Global Sports Academy.

Davis transferred to EKU from Butler in the spring of 2016 and had to sit out all of last season due to NCAA regulations.

Before committing to Butler, Davis was one of the top prep players in Kentucky at nearby Lafayette High School in Lexington. He was named first team all-state and one of seven finalists for Kentucky's "Mr. Basketball" honor following a senior season in which he averaged 24.6 points-per-game, 13.8 rebounds-per-game and 2.3 blocks-per-game.

Davis wrapped up his decorated high school career as Lafayette's all-time leader in points (2,343), rebounds (1,372) and blocks (321).

He is expected to be a key player for the Colonels in 2017-18.
