LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team is set for a midweek matchup against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Tuesday. First serve is set for 9 p.m. eastern time.
 
The contest will be streamed via the Mountain West Network and live stats will be available.
 
UNLV finished 24-8 last season, posting a 12-6, third best Mountain West conference finish. The Rebels are 2-1 this season, coming off of wins against Binghamton, 3-0, and Eastern Washington, 3-1, but fell to University of California, Davis in four sets during the UNLV Invitational on their home court.
 
The Rebels are predicted to finish seventh in the Mountain West and return only three letterwinners and two starters, but have lost 12 letterwinners and five starters, including the libero. They welcome in 10 newcomers.
 
The Colonels are coming off of a 2-1 weekend at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, California. There they took down the home team, San Diego State in four sets, topped the University of California, Northridge in five, but fell to Portland State in the final day, 3-0.
 
As a team the Colonels hit a clip of .381 and .273 during the match against CSUN and hit .256 for the match against San Diego State with a second set percentage of .433 and fourth set percentage of .348.
 
EKU placed two on the Aztec Invitational All-Tournament Team, sophomore Rachel Woody and junior Cassie Knutson. Woody tallied 95 assists over the three games, averaging 7.92 per set. The Murrieta, California native also notched nine kills and 18 digs. Knutson, a San Diego, California native, had a double-double against CSUN and for the tournament had 30 kills, 17 assists, 30 digs and hit a clip of .219.
 
The squad returns all starters, all other players but one, brings in two transfers and welcomes one true freshman.
 
The Rebels will be game number four on a seven game west coast swing for the team. After UNLV, the Colonels will head to Tucson, Arizona where they will play three games at the Cactus Classic.
