RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University tennis teams open play at home this weekend. The women kick off the weekend with a twin-bill on Friday against Xavier University at 12 p.m. and the University of the Cumberlands at 4 p.m. The men are back in action on Saturday as they welcome in the Cumberlands at 10 a.m. and Northern Kentucky University at 2 p.m. at the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center.
The men come into the weekend after falling to the University of Kentucky, 7-0, last Friday.
Northern Kentucky collected a loss, also at Kentucky, on Friday. They carry an 0-1 record into the contest, while the Patriots have yet to open their season.
These will be the first matches of the season for EKU and the Patriot women, while the Musketeers come in also with a loss.
The Colonel women finished one match above .500 last season (12-11) with a 6-3 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play.
