RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball will face Xavier in a nationally-televised showdown on Saturday night at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati.

WHAT TO KNOW
EKU (6-4) will be seeking its fourth straight win on Saturday.
Senior
Nick Mayo is only seven points away from breaking the EKU all-time points record (1,832).
Mayo hit his second buzzer-beater in a span of seven days to lift EKU to a 76-74 win over in-state rival Northern Kentucky last Saturday, Dec. 8, at McBrayer Arena.
Mayo currently leads the OVC and ranks 11th in the country in scoring at 24.4 points-per-game. He also ranks second in the OVC in rebounding (9.2 rebounds-per-game).
Mayo made (17) and attempted (20) career-highs in free throws in the win over NKU on Dec. 8. He currently ranks second in the NCAA in free throws made (77) and sixth in free throws attempted (86). He is shooting 89.5% from the stripe this season.
Freshman
Jomaru Brown sparked EKU off the bench in the win over NKU, scoring 16 points and dishing out a career-high four assists. He played a season-high 28 minutes.
EKU leads the OVC and ranks 11th in the country in steals-per-game (9.7). The Colonels also lead the OVC in turnover margin (+4.3). They are No. 3 in the conference in scoring offense (81.0 points-per-game).
The Colonels are now 4-0 on the year in games decided by three points or less.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Xavier (6-4) fell to Cincinnati, 62-47, in the Crosstown Shootout on Dec. 8.
Naji Marshall leads a balanced Xavier scoring attack at 13.0 points-per-game.
This is the 18th meeting between EKU and Xavier, and first since Jan. 9, 2006. The Colonels have lost their last eight games against the Musketeers. EKU's last win over Xavier came on Dec. 13, 1954 in Richmond.
