RICHMOND, Ky. – Guillem Sanchis and
Ramon van Flymen each went undefeated in singles play and 1-1 in doubles as the Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team split the day, falling to #6 NAIA Lindsey Wilson but defeating #4 NAIA Campbellsville, at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.

EKU (4-9) quickly took the doubles point from Lindsey Wilson after claiming No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, 6-1, to open the day.

Sanchis was first off the court at No. 3 singles, defeating Steven Espinoza, 6-2, 6-0, to put the Colonels up 2-0. But, the Blue Raiders managed pick up wins at No. 2 and 4 singles to tie the contest at 2-2.

van Flymen collected a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles to put EKU at match point.

Lindsey Wilson (1-0) claimed No. 5 and 6 singles to edge Eastern, 4-3.

In the second match of the day, Campbellsville (2-1) was first to strike collecting wins at No. 1 (#5 NAIA doubles team) and No. 3 doubles to garner the point.

van Flymen finished off Chrys Castro, 6-2, 6-0, to even the score, 1-1.

Parth Aggarwal,
Gabriel Ruiz and Sanchis each collected wins, respectively, to clinch the match for the Colonels, 4-1.

The Tigers won at No. 5 singles and Josh Piunti captured a three-set victory at No. 6 singles to finish the match, 5-2.

"Our top four men had good bounce-back wins in the Campbellsville match after, tough loss to swallow, Lindsey Wilson," Head Coach

van Flymen moves to 6-6 in dual match singles play while Aggarwal improves to 7-6. As a pair, the two hold a 4-3 No. 1 doubles overall record.

EKU will be back in action next weekend as it plays the University of Alabama at Birmingham on March 3 at 11 a.m. and Samford University on March 4 at 1 p.m. in Birmingham, Alabama.
