CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Eastern Kentucky won the series opener at No. 15 Virginia on Friday, but the Cavaliers came back to win the final two games of the series, including a 13-1 victory on Sunday at Davenport Field.
Virginia (4-3) jumped out to a quick start with three runs in the first inning, including a two-run double by Nate Eikhoff. The Cavaliers turned a 4-0 lead into a 10-0 advantage with six runs in the fourth to put the game away.

Eastern Kentucky freshman
Jake Lewis recorded his first collegiate hit with a single to right field in the second inning. UVA starter Evan Sperling, who entered the game having not allowed a run and just one hit this season, retired the next 11 batters he faced before leaving the game after the fifth inning.

Sperling (2-0) allowed one hit, no walks and struck out six in his five innings of work.

Lewis finished 1-for-2 with a walk for Eastern Kentucky.
Miles Jones added an RBI double in the top of the ninth to set the final score.
Eikhoff finished 1-for-3 with a run and three RBIs. Charlie Cody had a 3-for-4 day with a run scored and one driven in for Virginia.

The Colonels (1-6) are scheduled to play their first home game of the 2018 season on Wednesday against Bowling Green State University. Â First pitch at Earle Combs Stadium is set for 3 p.m.
