RICHMOND, Ky. –
Hannah Clark cranked back-to-back bombs, for the second time in as many games, to propel the Eastern Kentucky University softball team to an 11-5 win over Northern Illinois. The victory completes the five-game weekend sweep of the EKU Invitational.

The Huskies (5-15) struck first, plating one in the bottom of the second, but Eastern (16-5) found an answer in the top of the second.

Back-to-back singles from Destinee Lizzmore and Paige Murphy put two on for the heavy-hitting Clark. The junior sent a three-run shot over the left field wall to put EKU on top, 3-1.

NIU pushed one more across in the bottom of the third to draw within one, 3-2.

The Colonels put Lizzmore, Murphy and Johnkyria Alston on in the top of the fifth for Clark. The shortstop delivered again, collecting a grand slam, 7-2.

Mattira Morales also hit a two-run bomb down the left field line in the top of the seventh to continue piling on to the lead.

Mollie Paulick (6-1) notched the win for the Colonels after pitching five full.

Murphy went 3-for-4 at the dish while Clark went 2-for-2.

The win is the 10th straight for the squad as Eastern outscored opponents 52-14 this weekend.

EKU returns to the diamond this week for six games in Texas, with game one on Tuesday at Lamar. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
