RICHMOND, Ky. – Mollie Paulick tossed her first no hitter of the season and four collected home runs as the Eastern Kentucky University softball team swept Tennessee State in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader Friday night at Gertrude Hood Field. The squad one by scores of 4-0 and 7-3.
The Colonels plated four runs on three bombs in the first game.
Destinee Lizzmore was the first to strike, cranking a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, 2-0.
Paige Murphy blasted a leadoff solo-shot in the bottom frame of the fifth, 3-0, and Hannah Clark kept in tempo two batters later, 4-0.
Paulick (10-5) pitched the entire game, throwing 11 strikeouts.

The Colonels struck first again in game two, this time on a round-tripper down the left field line from Johnkyria Alston, 1-0.
The Tigers added a run on one hit in the top of three to tie it back up, 1-1.
But, the Colonels found a response in the bottom of the stanza putting together three hits to score three runs and jump back in front, 4-1.
A sacrifice steal for TSU and a double from Katie Schneider brought Tennessee State back within one, 4-3.
Clark singled to start the bottom frame of the sixth. Emily Corbitt came up with a huge double down the right field line to put runners in scoring position. Carly Robinson reached on a muffed throw to load the bases.
Paulick hit a hard grounder to shortstop to bring Clark home, 5-3.
Brooke Harrison singled to right center for two more runs batted in, extending the Colonel lead to 7-3. The deficit proved insurmountable for the Tigers.
The Colonels move to 25-16 (7-1 OVC) while TSU drops to 3-37 (0-11 OVC).
EKU returns to the diamond for a twin bill with Belmont University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
