RICHMOND, Ky. – Due to weather, more changes have been made to the Eastern Kentucky University softball schedule.

Instead of traveling to Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville the Colonels will make a trip to Morehead State on Friday for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.

EKU will then make up the swing on the final weekend of play when it was supposed to play the Eagles.

LAST TIME OUT

-EKU (20-12, 3-1 OVC) most recently dropped a game to the No. 19 University of Kentucky.

-Johnkyria Alston and Zoe Mihalicz each tallied hits in the contest.

-Paige Murphy continues to lead the Colonels in the batter's box with a stingy .426 average. The senior has collected eight doubles, one triple and seven home runs on the season.

-Destinee Lizzmore sits at a close second with a .360 mark. The newcomer has racked up 18 extra-base hits this year.

-Sophomore Mollie Paulick (7-4) is leading the charge from the rubber with a 2.85 ERA. Paulick has sat down 73 hitters on the year.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT                                                                                                                        

-Morehead State currently sits right behind EKU in the conference standings with an 18-8 record, 2-2 in league play.

-Most recently the Eagles swept Tennessee State.

-Paige Scruggs is leading the offensive effort for MSU with a .342 average while Chelsea McManaway is tossing a 1.65 earned run average from the circle.

-McManaway is the reigning OVC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
